R.V. Dog & Art Lovers Night = Big Fun!
We didn't know what to expect for our first ever RVDALN, but it turned out to be a very fun night...lots of people came, several with their 4 legged friends and we collected quite a 'bounty' of supplies for the Chicago Canine Rescue Shelter. Our adorable Guest of Honor, Norton a 5 month old Bassett Hound mix, was not able to stay the whole evening but he made many friends while he was here and I'm confident he will be adopted very soon!
Norton: Follow the link for adoption info.
All the generous supply donations that came in from attendees for the Chicago Canine Rescue Shelter.
We also had complimentary human treats and a visit from the Pepperoni King! This man needs a crown!
Vail...that doggy in the window.
A darling young lady doing her doggy impression.
Saying goodnight to Norton and Rachel, one of the wonderful volunteers from Chicago Canine Rescue.
Art imitating life...
After 10 days of feeling not at all myself...I'm angry and done with feeling sick, so today I started some new paintings. The image above is really just about my nose and head and the expansive congestion and wanting to fly away from it, but still feeling grounded (not in a good way). My friends this week, scads of kleenex and hot beverages...sorry to be negative but glad that at least it has inspired some new imagery...even if it is on cardboard!
These next 2 pieces actually have paintings on the other side that I'm only semi happy with...interesting I omitted the border without even realizing it...this top one was inspired by a drawing in my sketchbook.
Pet Portrait Reveal #4...Sam the Cat
Sam the Cat...who is deeply missed. This portrait was a memory gift from my client to his wife for the holidays. Sam loved olives.
Pet Portrait Reveal #3...Hank!
Another holiday Pet Portrait reveal, Hank is my first Leonberger. I was just given a little history lesson "The
original breed was created by taking a Landseer Newfoundland and
breeding that to a Saint Bernard. That dog was then bred to Great
Pyrenees. The original breeding took place in the 1800s in Germany." Stay tuned for more in the next week...
More Dog Portraits...Lulu & Palmer
Two recent Box Frame Print Pet Portraits: Lulu and Palmer...I'll have many more to show after the holidays...when the recipients have all received their gifts!
There is still plenty of time to order a Gift Certificate for your loved one:
A happy new collector!
Last weekend I got to meet Shellie Olson, who came to the studio with my pal and amazing artist, Cathi Bouzide, or as I call her the "Corn Lady". Cathi gave this Pink Poodle Print to her sister Shellie as a gift..because she is a fan of the color pink and dogs of course!
