Tuesday's owner asked me to design a Holiday Greeting Card that incorporated the Pet Portrait that I painted of her dog Tuesday, last spring. I love how it turned out, it helps that there was already a lot of red and green. Last weekend I got to meet Shellie Olson, who came to the studio with my pal and amazing artist, Cathi Bouzide, or as I call her the "Corn Lady". Cathi gave this Pink Poodle Print to her sister Shellie as a gift..because she is a fan of the color pink and dogs of course!

At long last...here are photos and hopefully some video from our Adoption Event with Chicago Canine Rescue on August 8th. It was fun afternoon, very hot and windy...but lots of puppy love. We had four very wonderful young dogs here: Kyle, Mickey, Shirley and Jill. None of them were adopted that afternoon but many people stopped and took cards for the shelter which is located just a few blocks away at 2227 W. Belmont in Chicago. We also let people know that fostering was also an option, this takes a little bit of the edge off when people are unsure how it would go with their other pets, etc. That's how we started with Alice, and we had such a happy ending. I just heard today 8/18 that Kyle and Mickey are in foster homes and will mot likely be adopted!

I'm very excited to be a featured Pet Portrait Artist in the premiere issue of Chicago Dog Magazine! My paintings of Oliver, Scruffles and Nel were the editor's picks...this is Oliver's second feature in a national dog magazine, he was also my featurted portrait in Modern Dog Magazine.
