Last weekend I had a wonderful surprise visit from my good pal and fabulous artist, Kerry Rolewicz. We did a trade at the 2007 One of a Kind Show, I got the gorgeous piece below from her and in return I agreed to create a painting paying homage to a road trip out west that she took with her husband back in the early days before kids and mortgages (the plan was to give it to him as an anniversary gift). I was glad to finally get this painting to her, and hope he thinks this gift was worth the wait! (She noted the 4 mountains I put in each panel and the irony of now having 4 little boys...then we had to speculate what the number of trees might represent! Any ideas?)
PS I think I talked her into opening an Etsy Store...stay tuned for a link.

Pet Portrait Reveal #2...Brinkley!
Pet PortraitsCommentHubcap Art for the Landfill Reclamation Project...
New Work4 CommentsI painted this hubcap on Tuesday for the Landfill Reclamation Project...it was tricky, with very little flat surface. "Landfillart is an international effortencompassing one-thousand-forty-one (1,041) artists to claim a piece ofrusted metal garbage and create fine art. The 1,041 pieces of rusted metal are actually old automobile hub caps from the 1930’s through the 1970’s." So what kind of car did this come from? We guessed Rolls Royce because of the 'R' but could be completely off base...if you know, please post a comment. Every time I look at the finished piece I see a chip and dip bowl...maybe a good start for a tabletop line?!

Pet Portraits2 Comments
Tuesday's owner asked me to design a Holiday Greeting Card that incorporated the Pet Portrait that I painted of her dog Tuesday, last spring. I love how it turned out, it helps that there was already a lot of red and green. If I did a portrait of your pet and you are interested in something like this let me know and I'll send you the details.
A happy new collector!
Collectors CornerCommentLast weekend I got to meet Shellie Olson, who came to the studio with my pal and amazing artist, Cathi Bouzide, or as I call her the "Corn Lady". Cathi gave this Pink Poodle Print to her sister Shellie as a gift..because she is a fan of the color pink and dogs of course!
