Perfectly Imperfect!

If you clicked on this you are looking at my new website which I just launched tonight on 11/26/19 …by myself, in a state of not exactly knowing what I’m doing. But clearly I did! Ha! Pardon the imperfections, I’ve got a lot of tweaking and editing to do but wanted to get it launched. My last healthy day of exercise and fresh air was Sunday when I took a brisk walk to Lake Michigan, took in this magnificent view and snapped this pic. So Thankful for regaining my health and self this past year, trusting that it’s okay that I accomplished what I did and it’s okay that I didn’t get all the other stuff done. Try to be kind and compassionate to yourself, too, and to those around you. Always easier said than done, wishing you a peaceful holiday.

Stepping into the On-line Webinar World with Sketchbook Revival

Last month I overcame by techie fears and bravely went on-line for my first live webinar interview to share some of my sketch book journaling methods in a teaching session with fellow artist, Karen Abend in Germany, for the upcoming SKETCHBOOK REVIVAL EVENT. I'll admit, there were some last minute snafus, but I somehow pulled it off - that last photo was when it was done - I was relieved ;). Hello Friends! I've recently completed some big new work now available for sale at the State Street Gallery in the loop in Chicago! Last spring I was invited by curator, Jason Messinger, to participate in a group show in the theme of 'Carnival'. Inspired by 'circus side show' banners, I merged my painting style with my sketchbook journal imagery and my own personal middle age 'freak show' story to produce a collection of 5 foot pieces!
